OE SEO: Common Questions

Can I switch from Yoast SEO without losing anything?

Yes. OE SEO reads the same fields Yoast stores titles, descriptions, focus keyphrases and robots settings in, so they carry over unchanged. Its first activation imports the Yoast settings, and while Yoast is still active OE SEO stays in the background, so you can check everything before switching.

Will my sitemap address in Google Search Console change?

No. OE SEO serves its sitemaps at the addresses Yoast uses (/sitemap_index.xml, /post-sitemap.xml…), so the sitemap you submitted keeps working.

Does it work with my theme and other plugins?

Yes. It works with any theme, and code written for Yoast — its title, description, robots, schema, sitemap and breadcrumb filters, yoast_breadcrumb() and custom %%variables%% — keeps working.

What is AEO / GEO and what does OE SEO do for it?

Answer and generative engine optimization: making pages easy for ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews to quote and cite. OE SEO adds a quick answer and FAQ (with schema) to each post, checks how quotable the text is, serves llms.txt and lets you choose which AI crawlers may read the site.
